About this Specialty Coffee
This coffee is from Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, and Yirgacheffe is located in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region. Coffees originating from this region are called “garden coffees” since they are typically grown in individual gardens or backyards. This is one of the most famous and prestigious coffee regions in the World. Furthermore, it is also known for producing clean, floral and acidity driven washed coffees.
This coffee variety is Ethiopian Heirloom. This catch-all term is used to describe Ethiopian coffee varieties since there are an estimated amount of 6,000 to 10,000 varieties in Ethiopia alone. The differences in these varieties are so subtle that it was decided to call them all with the same name, and while unconventional, this mysterious quality of the coffee is surely alluring.
