About this Specialty Coffee
La Palma y El Tucán is one of Colombia’s most progressive and influential coffee producers, located in the lush mountains of Cundinamarca, just outside Bogotá. Since its founding, the project has challenged conventional coffee farming through a combination of cutting edge processing, ecological responsibility, and community collaboration.
At the heart of La Palma y El Tucán is a deep commitment to innovation. The estate is known for its advanced fermentation techniques, including controlled anaerobic and lactic fermentations, which result in coffees of extraordinary complexity, clarity, and expressive flavor. Their coffees often exhibit vibrant fruit notes, silky textures, and elegant floral aromatics that have made them a favorite among global competitors and roasters.
Beyond their own estate, La Palma y El Tucán has built a unique model called the Neighbors and Crops program. This initiative supports surrounding smallholder farmers by offering training, resources, and access to world class processing facilities. Through this shared infrastructure, quality and sustainability are elevated across the region, creating a lasting impact on both cup and community.
The farm is also a beacon of ecological consciousness. Practices such as composting, biodiversity preservation, and water conservation are deeply integrated into daily operations, aligning with a vision of long term stewardship and responsible agriculture.
