Best of Panama Geisha – Finca Lérida GN-04
Best of Panama Lérida GN-04 is a remarkable expression of Panama’s celebrated Geisha variety, produced at the historic Finca Lérida by Maria Amoruso in the highlands of Boquete, Chiriquí. Situated at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from an exceptional terroir shaped by nutrient-rich volcanic soils, cool mountain temperatures, abundant rainfall, and the mist-laden microclimate of the surrounding cloud forests of Volcán Barú.
These conditions slow the maturation of coffee cherries, allowing them to develop enhanced sweetness and aromatic complexity while preserving the refined acidity and floral elegance that define world-renowned Panamanian Geisha. Established in the 1920s, Finca Lérida remains one of Panama’s oldest and most respected coffee estates, consistently producing coffees that reflect the extraordinary character of Boquete’s high-altitude landscape.
For this exceptional GN-04 lot, only the ripest cherries are selectively hand-picked before undergoing a meticulously controlled natural process. The whole cherries are dried intact under carefully monitored conditions, allowing the fruit’s sugars and organic compounds to interact gradually with the seed over an extended period.
This patient drying approach enhances sweetness, texture, and fruit complexity while preserving the Geisha variety’s signature floral clarity. Rather than overpowering the coffee, the natural process amplifies the intrinsic qualities shaped by Boquete’s unique terroir.
The final cup reveals expressive notes of peach candy, jasmine, and raspberry, supported by a silky, tea-like body and a long, elegant finish—offering both vibrancy and refinement in equal measure.
A stunning representation of Finca Lérida’s legacy and the extraordinary potential of Panama’s high-altitude Geisha.
