At The Espresso Lab, we are proud to present Mt. Totumas, a celebrated specialty coffee estate located within the cloud forests of Volcán, Chiriquí, Panama. Led by Karin Dietrich, the farm is renowned for producing exceptional coffees while preserving the rich biodiversity and ecological integrity of one of Panama's most remarkable mountain environments.

Situated at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level, Mt. Totumas benefits from cool mountain temperatures, fertile volcanic soils, and a unique cloud forest ecosystem that encourages slow cherry maturation and extraordinary flavor development. The farm's commitment to sustainable agriculture allows each coffee to express the true character of its origin while maintaining harmony with the surrounding environment.

This lot features the rare Criollo variety and undergoes the farm's distinctive Natural Bosque process. In this method, coffee cherries are dried slowly under shaded forest conditions, allowing for gradual moisture reduction and enhanced flavor development while preserving clarity, balance, and complexity.

The result is a vibrant and elegant cup with notes of honey, blood orange, and lemon zest. Bright citrus acidity, layered sweetness, and delicate floral undertones create a refined sensory experience that highlights both the uniqueness of the Criollo variety and the exceptional terroir of Mt. Totumas.

The partnership between The Espresso Lab and Mt. Totumas reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and origin-driven excellence. Together, we celebrate coffees that honor both the extraordinary landscapes of Panama and the dedication of the producers who bring these remarkable coffees to life.
